Southeast Missouri University Foundation

History

Southeast Missouri University Foundation was formed in 1983 to seek the resources that will make the difference between an adequate education for our University's students - financed by tax funds and modest student fees - and an excellent education - made possible by a blend of tax funds, modest student fees and private philanthropy.

In the past 25 years, we have been able to accomplish much through the support of so many generous alumni and friends of Southeast. Some major accomplishments include:

  • Over $60 million in gifts received
  • More than 425 scholarships made available to Southeast students
  • More than $13 million raised for the construction of the River Campus
  • Major donations acquired for the construction of Robert A. Dempster Hall and the Otto and Della Seabaugh Polytechnic Building

In the past five years alone, we have seen an astounding 267% growth in annual giving at Southeast, a number that is truly a testament to the commitment of Southeast's alumni and friends.

With a successful record and continued growth, the Foundation has become an integral element in allowing Southeast Missouri State University to provide an excellent education at an affordable price. Through the support of so many alumni and friends like you, we will continue to ensure that our students always have the opportunity to experience success at Southeast.
